“From District to WorldSkills – The Journey of a Champion”
The Journey from Skills to WorldSkills
Every champion begins somewhere — a small district stage, a curious mind, a spark of skill.
At Aurira Software Lab, we help nurture that spark, guiding young minds through every milestone of the IndiaSkills and WorldSkills journey — from the first competition to the world stage.
Who Can Participate?
To compete in IndiaSkills or WorldSkills, you must:
👤 Belong to a member country or region
⏳ Be 22 years or younger (or 25 for select skills) in the year of competition
That’s all it takes to start your journey toward becoming a WorldSkills Champion!
The Journey Begins: Step by Step
🏁 Track 1 – District & State Level (Level 1)
Your first stop!
These competitions are organized by the State Skill Development Missions (SSDMs) in every state.
Each state identifies its top performers across different trades — and the top 2 winners from each skill qualify for the Regional Level Competitions.
This is where future champions are born.
🏁 Track 2 – SSC-Led Competitions
Some states may not directly participate in IndiaSkills.
In such cases, the Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) step in to organize and manage the competitions — ensuring that every skilled youth in India gets a fair chance to showcase their talent.
No state left behind. Every skill counts.
India comes together here — divided into five vibrant regions that host grand skill showdowns organized by NSDC & SSCs.
🟦 North: Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, J&K, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh
🟩 East: Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh
🟨 West: Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa, Madhya Pradesh
🟧 South: Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Puducherry
🟪 North-East: Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim
Before competing, participants attend boot camps — rigorous, hands-on training sessions by industry experts and SSC mentors to refine their skills.
The top 2 competitors from each region per skill move forward to the National Stage.
The nation watches as 10 of the best competitors (2 from each region) battle it out at the IndiaSkills National Competition.
Only three medals await — 🥇 Gold, 🥈 Silver, 🥉 Bronze — and the honor of representing India on the world stage.
Precision, passion, and performance — this is India’s biggest skills celebration.
Preparation and Selection of Finalists – WorldSkills India Preparation
Step 1 – Intensive Training & Assessment (3 Months)
All three medalists undergo a rigorous three-month training program that includes mock tests, evaluations, and hands-on practice.
These assessments are conducted by the Sector Skill Council (SSC) to evaluate performance, consistency, and readiness.
Step 2 – Selection of the Finalist:
Based on the SSC’s evaluation, one finalist is selected to represent India at the WorldSkills Global Competition.
Step 3 – Advanced Coaching & Mentorship (6 Months)
The selected finalist then begins six months of intensive, industry-led coaching and mentorship, designed to enhance technical mastery, precision, and performance for the world stage.
